Spring 2015

President:

Ryan Glynn

Ryan Glynn here, president for Beta Alpha Psi. I am an accounting major, specializing in healthcare management. This spring I will be applying to the IMAcc program and I hope to begin my career at one of the Big Four firms. I'm very excited for the opportunity to serve Beta as their president.

In my free time, (while avoiding the dangers of negligent drivers) I train for triathlon and endurance running. Feel free to introduce yourself - I'm not as mean as I look.

Nicholas Fahrney

I am a junior planning on working for a Big Four firm in the Tax practice. This will be my third semester with Beta Alpha Psi. This spring I will be learning from Ryan the roles of the President and the various Board Members to prepare for my semester as President next fall. I will also be applying for the IMACC program and preparing for my semester interning in Chicago. In my free time, I enjoy flying single-engine aircraft, fishing, hunting and watching Badger and Packer football. 

 

Vice President: 

Taylor Zimprich

Hello, my name is Taylor Zimprich and this is my second year with Beta Alpha Psi. I am a junior in the IMAcc program and will be an audit intern with KPMG Milwaukee next summer. Outside of this organization I love to do anything active—particularly distance running and joining pick-up basketball games whenever I can. I am also a huge NFL fanatic and my ultimate goal is to work for an NFL team someday (but obviously I would not even consider the Bears…). I can’t wait to get to know you all this semester!

Tyler Reindl

Hello everyone! My name is Tyler Reindl and I will be serving as Treasurer this semester. This is my second semester with Beta. I am a junior majoring in accounting and am looking to enter the IMAcc program with hopes of finding a tax internship in Milwaukee. Outside of school, I love playing sand volleyball, watching the Badgers and Packers and hanging out with my dog, Jake. I look forward to everything this semester has to offer!

Suzy So

Hi! My name is Suzy. I am a junior and this is my second semester in Beta.My current position is responsible for reporting membership and activity information of our chapter to the national Beta office. Outside of school, I love distance running and hiking. I dream to trek in Amazon Rainforest one day. I am also a big fan of indie rock.

Nicole Rosenwasser

Hi everyone! My name is Nicole Rosenwasser and this is my second semester in Beta Alpha Psi. I am a sophomore Accounting major hoping to pursue a Masters in Accountancy degree through the IMAcc program. I am excited to be the Director of Correspondence and keeping you updated on all of Beta’s events. For fun, I enjoy tennis, traveling and trying new restaurants. I am looking forward to a great semester!

Sara Nonn

Hi, my name is Sara Nonn and I am a junior in the accounting program. This is my second semester in Beta Alpha Psi and my first semester on the board. I am excited to be the Director of Member Relations! I look forward to getting to know each member better.  I enjoy watching the Packers, Badgers, and Brewers as well as running (usually 5Ks and 10Ks) and playing softball and volleyball. I’m looking forward to a great semester!

After two semesters in Beta Alpha Psi, I am pleased to have the opportunity to give back to Beta as a Pledge Co-Chair this spring. I will also be applying to the IMacc program this spring with hopes of working for a Big Four Accounting Firm in Chicago. Outside of this organization, I can most often be found cooking with friends, enjoying live music, or cheering on the Badgers. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me if you have any questions. Jeff Kreutz

Hey everyone my name is Jeff Kreutz and I am one of the pledge co-chairs for this semester. This semester I will be applying to the Imacc program and I am hoping to end up in audit at a Big 4 firm. If you have any questions about the process feel free to use me as a resource! Along with accounting I am also very involved in the Risk Management department here in the business school and serve on the board for that club. My hobbies include watching and playing sports (mostly soccer) and hanging out with my friends. I look forward to a great semester with this organization!

Chris Maule

"Hey everyone! My name is Chris Maule and I will be serving as the Community Service Chair for Beta this semester. This is my third year at UW-Madison, my third semester in Beta, and I plan to graduate in the fall with a double major in Accounting and Finance. I’m originally from Appleton, WI, and am a lifelong Packer fan. My hobbies include golfing, reading, bowling, and netflixing. I’m excited to help Beta make a difference in the community this spring, and look forward to meeting everyone who gets involved."

Hello Beta! My name is Tim Heyrman and I will be the Social Chair for the 2014 spring semester. I am currently a junior and this upcoming semester I will be applying to the IMAcc program. Faculty Profile:

Andy Colombe

Hi all! My name is Andy Colombe and I am looking forward to being the Faculty Profile Chair this semester. The faculty portion of the professional meetings is a great opportunity for all of us to gain some insight, learn more about our faculty, and get some great advice. I am a junior, and recently applied for the IMAcc program. Outside of Beta, I enjoy skiing in the winters and sailing in the summers.

Web Design Chair:

Jake Draeger

My name is Jake Draeger and this is my second semester with Beta Alpha Psi.  I’m very excited to be your web design chair this semester and look forward to bringing my technical knowledge to Beta. As the web design chair I have updated the website and will maintain the website, Facebook page and Twitter during the semester. I am a junior majoring in Accounting and Information Systems with a Certificate in Computer Science. I enjoy running, attending Badger sporting events and dealing with anything technology. I look forward to another great semester with Beta!

Accounting Awareness:

Dongsoo Lee (Daniel) 

Hi, My name is Daniel Lee and a junior majoring in accounting. This is my third semester in Beta Alpha Psi and my first semester on the board. 
I am excited to be the Accounting Awareness Chair. I will be applying for the IMACC program this spring semester. I am excited to promote the accounting programs within the School of Business including the Accounting Awareness Social. Outside of this organization, I am enthusiastic about soccer, traveling and musics. I'm looking forward to a great semester!

 

 

 

 

 

Fall 2014

President:

Josh Frischmon

Josh is a senior in the Wisconsin School of Business and has been a member of Beta Alpha Psi for three semesters. Before this semester, he was a member of the executive board as a President-Elect and Social Chair. Josh is also part of the IMAcc program and will be interning with Deloitte in Minneapolis this upcoming winter. In his free time, he enjoys playing golf and watching Badger sporting events.

Ryan Glynn here, incoming president for Beta Alpha Psi. I am an accounting major, specializing in healthcare management. This spring I will be applying to the IMAcc program and I hope to begin my career at one of the Big Four firms. I will be shadowing Josh this semester to learn the presidential duties and I'm very excited for the opportunity to serve Beta as their future president.

Vice President: 

Dan Haffner

Dan is a senior, and is starting his fourth semester with Beta Alpha Psi. This is Dan's first semester on the executive board, but he has served with numerous other organizations on campus prior to his current role. Dan is a current member of the 2016 IMAcc class, and will be interning with PwC in Spring 2015. Outside of school, Dan enjoys cooking, being outdoors, and routing for his favorite soccer team, Tottenham Hotspur.

Derek Krumrei

Hometown: Hudson, WI

Year: Senior

Interests/hobbies: Playing or watching a wide variety of sports, watching tv shows/netflix, playing video games.

Favorite sports teams: Packers. Badgers, Twins, Red Wings, Timberwolves.

Interesting facts: I completed the gallon challenge (drinking a gallon of milk in under an hour without throwing up), and I also have made a brief appearance on the show Tosh.0.

Director of National Records: 

Max Haraldsen

Hi, my name is Max Haraldsen. I am a senior and this is my fourth semester in Beta and second on the board. My previous position was the Web Design Chair. My current position is responsible for reporting membership and activity information of our chapter to the national Beta office. I am originally from Clarksville, TN but moved around throughout my childhood. I will be interning in the assurance practice at PwC in New York City next summer. I am also a member of UW-Madison Army ROTC and will be commissioning as an officer in the US Army Reserve this spring. I enjoy playing tennis, traveling, going to the movies, and finding good places to eat.

Brian De Vere

My name is Brian De Vere and I am a fifth year in the accounting program. This is my second semester being in Beta Alpha Psi and my second time being on the board. I am excited to be the Director of Correspondence this semester and will be informing you of all of Beta’s exciting events. If you ever have any questions, don’t be afraid of stopping me for a chat. 

Director of Member Relations: 

Nuan Zhang

Coming from Beijing, China and having spent two years in the USA, I am exposed to different cultures and therefore value diversity as an important factor in my life. As the Director of Member Relations, I will serve as a liaison between members and the executive board to ensure that all voices are heard and valued. I would also like to facilitate a more involving community by encouraging everyone to step out of their comfort zone while remaining who they are. Outside of school I love playing sports and talking with friends. Soccer is my favorite game to watch and a fun fact is that I learned German because of the German soccer team.

Hello everyone! My name is Matt Stang and I am extremely excited to be one of the two pledge co-chairs this fall. I'm originally from Eagan, Minnesota, just south of the Twin Cities. I'm very into intramurals sports here at UW, I'm usually on 5-6 teams each semester. I'm interning in the audit practice in the Spring at KPMG Minneapolis, and I'm looking forward to meeting all the new pledges!

Community Service Chair: 

Mary Prunty

I am a junior planning to do the IMAcc program. This is my second semester in Beta, and I'm excited to do some meaningful community service with everyone! Outside of Beta I am involved with Associated Students of Madison, I enjoy running (I recently ran a marathon), and anything outdoors. I also enjoy art and design. Other than that my hobbies change weekly, from carving wooden spoons to making my own tea. I am from a small city called Antigo in Northern Wisconsin, so I am very excited to travel and study abroad in Vienna, Austria, so I can submerge myself in other cultures I wasn't exposed to growing up.

Social Chair: 

Brittany Goldsworthy

My name is Brittany Goldsworthy and this is my third semester with Beta Alpha Psi. I am a senior in the IMAcc program and will be an audit intern with KPMG Minneapolis this upcoming winter. Before this semester, I served as one of the Auction Committee Leads for the 11th Biennial Beta Alpha Psi Auction held last spring. In my free time, I enjoy playing sports, going to concerts, and cheering on our Wisconsin Badgers! I look forward to a great semester with Beta and seeing everyone at the social events!

Faculty Profile: 

Cindy Xu

Hi everyone! I am Cindy Xu and will be responsible for the faculty presentations this fall. I would like to make the accounting faculty more accessible to our members as part of the Beta experience. I am a senior in the IMAcc program and I will be an international tax intern at PwC New York office this coming spring. Outside of accounting, I am very enthusiastic about musical theatre, movies, soccer, traveling and cooking. Also I am trained for classical piano for over 15 years and one important item on my bucket list is to play a piano concerto with a world-class orchestra.

Ben Usem

My name is Ben Usem and this is my second semester with Beta Alpha Psi.  I’m very excited to be your web design co-chair this semester with the very talented Danny Umhoefer. I am a junior majoring in Accounting and Risk Management and Insurance, and I’m hoping to pursue a Masters in Accountancy degree via the IMAcc program as well. I enjoy playing and watching sports, and getting involved in other student organizations on campus as well. I’m looking forward to a great semester!

Danny Umhoefer

This is my fourth semester as a member of Beta Alpha Psi, and my first semester on the Executive Board. In my current position as Web Design Co-Chair, I created and built this very website (I would love feedback on the website; email me at dumhoefer@wisc.edu). This past summer, I worked at PwC in Milwaukee as an assurance intern, and I have accepted their full-time offer to start in fall 2015. Outside of accounting, I am also a double major in Political Science, and I enjoy distance running, cooking, and traveling. In August, I participated in my fourth half marathon, and one of my bucket list goals is to complete a marathon in another country. 

Accounting Awareness:

Brianna Brinckman

Hello, my name is Brianna Brinckman! I am a senior and am currently on my second semester as Accounting Awareness Chair. I was just accepted into the IMAcc program and will be interning at KPMG in the spring. Outside of Beta, I am on the Executive board for AKPsi and work as a financial specialist at StudentPrint. For fun, I really enjoy traveling, being outside, and being active.
